An permanent opportunity has arisen at AXA PPP healthcare for an Underwriter in our Bristol office.
This role encompasses the ability to assess risk and underwrite Large Corporate clients. You will use your skills to support our Sales colleagues in the renewal of our existing business and with our potential new business clients.
Awareness of the PMI market will enable you to accurately assess risk and set the appropriate proposition for each large corporate group. It is important you are a team player, not just within the immediate underwriting team but also with our sales colleagues and AXA PPP departments.
The role includes:
Underwriting of large corporate group new business and renewals
Technical pricing support for sales account managers and other internal and external customers. This will encompass the delivery of trend analysis and justification of terms to assist in the negotiation process. Opportunities are available to attend both internal and external meetings
To be involved with projects, which may extend to cover products and services outside of the large corporate area
To support the Underwriting Development Manager in the training for new team members, and assist with the pricing training of sales colleagues
Monitor performance of own portfolio to develop understanding of contribution to overall Large Corporate results.
You will have good risk awareness, including an understanding of the elements of risk performance in a corporate client
Accuracy and attention to detail are important including logical thinking
Organisational skills, numerical skills with a good knowledge of excel
You must be self motivated and manage your own portfolio and workloads
Sufficient PMI industry knowledge is needed to understand both the PMI market and the business world
The ability to build constructive business relationships to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with Sales colleagues
To be able to thrive under pressure as this role involves lots of negotiations with Sales due to Client and Broker requests
