Capital Project Managers - Band 6 or 7

Job description          

At University Hospital’s Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking for exceptional project managers with credible experience and knowledge in capital programmes. Whose primary objective will be developing & delivering major capital programmes to continue to make our Trust ‘outstanding’. Dependant on the successful candidates experience, you may be either a Band 6 or Band 7.

As the Capital Project Manager you will lead and drive a proactive approach to both simple and complex capital programmes that will ensure the Trust delivers all of its key objectives. You will ensure that there are robust processes, mechanisms and tools in place to ensure programmes deliver on time and to the highest standards.

No single day will be the same in this role, but on a typical day you will: -
Produce feasibility reports and business case reports for consideration by the users, Divisional Managers, and the Trust's Executive groups. Production of detailed project programmes with key milestone dates based on a standard approach to the Plan of Work, including using computer applications, such as MS Project. Undertake fee tendering for the appointment of external consultants in line with agreed protocols and Standing Financial Instructions. Assess feasibility of potential projects both spatially (space planning in accordance with legislative and best practice guidance), forming budget estimates with a for clients within an agreed timeframe (Estates Service Level agreement) Direct and co-ordinate the work of architects, cost consultants, design engineers, property professionals and legal advisors to ensure that programmes are met, schemes are within budget and to the specified quality The ideal candidate that would excel in this role would: -
Be in possession of a degree, preferably in Building Surveying or Construction Have experience of planning and processing of construction related schemes. Direct specific experience of project management including budget management over a wide range of values, from £25000 - £6 million. Have a passion for working in a healthcare environment Have a recognised qualification in Programme/Project Management In return for being a strong candidate, we would offer: -
