Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Contract: Permanent We are looking to appoint a committed, professional and enthusiastic person to the role of Senior Finance Officer within the Care Payments Team. Previous experience in a supervisory role is essential, together with good communication and negotiation skills as well as experience in system and process development. The role involves communicating internally and externally with stakeholders, so the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can articulate confidently as well as listen and respond effectively. This will include using various communication methods to ensure that queries are resolved, payments are made and charges are raised and a satisfactory outcome is achieved always taking into account client confidentially. An organised approach is needed to ensure that corporate timescales are adhered to. Good diary and time management skills are required as the ability to prioritise workloads and deal with queries and requests promptly is essential. The successful candidate must be confident in making decisions and have the ability to assert themselves in challenging situations and will be asked to carry out more senior tasks in the absence of the Care Payments Manager and will also include authorising annual leave, fully supporting staff, producing reports and analysing figures, as well as dealing with complex queries when they arise. The role will involve line managing Finance Assistants and Finance Officers, this will include holding regular supervisions and discussions surrounding objectives and performance. You will also be required to provide support to projects and managing pieces of work within the Income and Care Payments team. It is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to work individually and as part of a team. The role will require you to have in depth knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook, together with an understanding of finance, such as the ability to reconcile accounts and the ability to use SAP would be an advantage.
