Reports to: CEO
Ticketer is looking to change the way people travel. We are now the UK’s largest ETM supplier, after less than 10 years of trading, and with ticketing machines on buses across the UK, from Cornwall to the Shetland Islands. And it’s not just buses. In fact, there are Ticketer software and devices on every form of public transport, including trams, trains, aircraft and horse trams(!). Whatever the size of fleet, whatever the form of public transport, we’re by the side of operators, keeping their businesses moving forward through our innovative public transportation technology. Our aim is to push Ticketer to the forefront of public transport throughout the world by developing a range of products and services that complement each other for rail, bus and metro applications.
With a solid and highly profitable base in the UK, we are planning for further growth, locally and internationally, and are looking to appoint a key member of our Senior team by hiring a Head of Hardware (Design and Development).
You will lead by example and manage the hardware team in Cambridge. You will be responsible for design, development and support of all aspects of Ticketer’s hardware systems. The role offers an opportunity to lead our hardware development plans, working with all areas of the business to ensure our products are market leading.
You will be a person who possesses exceptional leadership and technical skills. You will be responsible for ensuring all work meets the demanding requirements of our market, is properly planned, completed on time and to budget, and achieves the highest quality standards required by Ticketer.
You will lead the effort to innovate and invent. You will be responsible for setting and maintaining appropriate design standards, using the latest design methods and tools. Improving, where necessary, internal and external design and development practices, and keeping our hard won reputation as leaders in our market.
Ticketer has earned a well deserved reputation for world class customer support. Your team will provide the necessary support to the other key areas of the business to ensure technical ‘know how’ is disseminated efficiently throughout Ticketer.
This is an ideal position for an ambitious candidate who can make a difference, be innovative and help Ticketer bring exciting new products to our UK and emerging international markets.
