Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust comprises Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. With over 10000 staff and over 1100 beds the priorities of the Trust focus on a quality service which is all about people – patients, staff and partners. Recognised as providing ‘outstanding’ care to our patients and rated ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commissioner, is testament to the skill and dedication of the people who work here. CUH’s values – Together- safe, kind, excellent – are at the heart of patient care, defining the way all staff work and behave. The Trust provides accessible high-quality healthcare for the local people of Cambridge, together with specialist services, dealing with rare or complex conditions for a regional, national and international population.

We are seeking to appoint Anaesthetic Practitionersto join us in our team of dynamic people invested in innovation, excellence and in improvement of outcomes for patients but also of their experience of going through Theatres.
If you would like to share our vision for continuous improvement, with a focus on patient safety and quality care, come work with us in our world-class teaching hospital which is also a major trauma centre.

Once appointed we will build upon your Graduate or Postgraduate anaesthetic course and support you in your new role. Registered Nurses who have not yet attained a recognised anaesthetic course will be offered an in-house 6 months training programme (endorsed by Cambridge University HP) in order to fully equip them to practice in support of the anaesthetist and the wider surgical care team.

We believe that it is essential to develop our staff to their full potential and we offer, to those interested, a wide range of post-qualification development opportunities including Practice Supervision, ILS/PILS, ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills, among other pathways that can lead to a perioperative care post-graduate qualification. Our own Theatres Education Team is here to act as stewards to practitioners’ professional development. If you are recently qualified, we run a very successful multiprofessional Perceptorship Programme, designed to set your Theatres’ career in motion.

You will need a valid NMC/HCPC registration (or be in the process of obtaining it).

Benefits to you

We offer development opportunities and a wide range of benefits including on-site leisure facilities, shopping concourse, day nurseries and access to a great transport system with easy access to airports and rail travel.

For further details of our fantastic benefits please refer to the attachment below - CUH Benefits.

Please note if you would like to discuss the required hours of this role further, you should approach the contact given. In some cases alternative working hours will be considered.

We welcome applications from the Armed Forces.
