Secretary for the Centre for Misfolding Diseases [Maternity Cover] (Part Time)

Job description          

We are looking for a self-motivated and well-organised person to join our secretarial team. In this busy and interesting role, you will provide secretarial support for the Centre for Misfolding Diseases in order to support the smooth and efficient operation of the team or individuals work and time. Duties will include: word processing; diary management; booking travel and accommodation; ordering supplies; organising visits, arranging meetings, both internally, externally and with international participants as well as liaising with members of the Sector, Department, University and external organisations. Ideally educated to A level standard or equivalent, the successful candidate will have significant experience of working in a busy office, be able to work independently and act effectively on their own initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. Previous experience of working in a higher education environment is essential, as is experience of using the University procurement system. The role is 20 hours per week, working mornings Monday to Friday Maternity Cover: The funds for this post are available until 23/11/2020 or the return of the post holder whichever is the earlier.
