Aquaculture Technical Specialist

The Technical Service Specialist is a key member of Cargill’s aqua nutrition team which is responsible for customer Salmonid technical support, advice and product enhancements. The role will be responsible for maximizing the value for our customer base through Cargill’s product solutions and services and will act as a ‘trusted advisor’ related to feed choice and technical queries from customers. The role will also focus on the medium to long term commercial vision and helping our customers reach and exceed their goals. The position will also identify business development opportunities, identify and propose technical solutions, mange projects and train customers.

Main Tasks:
Partner with internal sales team to coordinate strategy towards customers and recommend the best option for the customer given their strategy and type of aqua farming, in order to acquire new business

Lead technical involvement in customer contract negotiations to propose strategy and value proposition

Maintain strong relationships with key customers from a technical perspective and provide them guidance on legislation and regulation related to food, food safety and health claims that influence products, ingredients and labelling

Support new product development and product launches in the UK market

Responsible for coaching UK account managers in aspects of offered products and services ensuring they understand the products technically and product strategy

Provide insight on customer needs, industry trends and competitor analysis to account managers

Supporting customer technical requests

Follow up on product launches, understand customer feedback on products and identify/ implement product support offerings

Work with other functions internally to asse

ss opportunities for improvement and provide consultative advice around market trends and developments

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in a relevant subject area (Nutrition, Animal Health, Aquaculture, Biology) or similar – a masters degree would be preferred but not essential

Demonstrated experience in aqua nutrition, e.g. Salmon production, Salmon nutrition, Salmon health or Aquaculture support services

Experience in commercial account management focused on the delivery of onsite technical support services and customer relationship management

Project and portfolio management skills to effectively manage different customers and priorities

Able to develop deep customer relationships with technical teams and customer senior leaders

Able to convey technical information to customers at all levels

Fluent English (verbal and written) with strong presentation skills

Due to the customer fac

ing nature of the position travel of between 25-50% will be required for the position
