Support Workers

Job description          

We are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Support Workers with good communication skills to join our team. You will work alongside autistic adults, supporting in a range of activities, including developing independence in daily living, accessing work/education and leisure activities. At Autism Initiatives we work alongside autistic people, providing specialist services tailored to each individual. Experience is not essential, but a genuine passion for providing person centred support as well as a positive attitude, is key to being successful in this role. Given the nature of the role, successful applicants must register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Essential Requirements: Understanding of what ‘a person centred approach’ means Awareness of Autism Spectrum Conditions Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to work on own initiative Flexibility and adaptability to change Excellent communication skills Ability to understand and complete relevant documents and reports Professional standards and positive attitude Willingness to learn and develop To achieve registration with the Scottish Social Services Council on Combined Register Part 5 within 6 months of commencement of employment. Hold, or be willing to achieve, a relevant qualification to meet the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council. Full details can be found in person specification.
