Care Assistant (Twilight)

Job description          

Proposed Interview Date: 02/10/2019 Job Summary Royal Blind, Scotland’s largest vision impairment charity, is looking for Care Assistants to join Braeside House, our care home for older people with a vision impairment in Edinburgh.
The Care Assistants will support the Registered Nurses to deliver a high standard of relationship centred care to older people with a vision impairment within a care home setting. The care provided will be personal outcome focused and promote dignity, privacy, independence and choice for the residents.
Key requirements: Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). SVQ level 2, or willingness to work towards (with organisation’s support). Good organisational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organise time effectively, create work schedules and prioritise workloads. Understanding manner towards people.
Hours: 22 hours any 4 evenings from 7 usually starting at 4.30pm and finishing at 10.00pm.
Pay:
Qualified with SVQ2 Unqualified
£19,731 FTE per annum £17,316 FTE per annum
£11,732 per annum 22 hours £10,296 per annum 22 hours
The posts are subject to a PVG Scheme Record/Update check for regulated work with vulnerable adults.
