Payables Senior Team Leader

Exciting time to join my client who is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Team Lead for their Glasgow office. Working for a global business with strong strategy and direction this role will heavily support the Senior AP Manager by leading the team first and foremost. Manage a team of 6 staff To manage the training and development needs of all direct reports and conduct monthly 1/2/1. To provide coaching and support to team on an ongoing basis To manage the team to achieve the departmental KPI’S. To implement best practice and procedures within the department and suggest improvements to improve quality of output, speed of processing and enhanced customer service. To ensure that all bank accounts are reconciled daily and appropriate action taken to resolve unmatched items To ensure that there are stringent banking controls in place to ensure that the Company is protected from error or fraud. Responsible for ensuring that all purchase ledger activities including processing of expenses, supplier invoices and credit notes, debit balances and supplier statement reconciliations are performed daily Responsible for checking and authorising the payment run schedules before submitting for payment To carry out reconciliations of the AP GL codes and submit to the Management Accountants To carry out intercompany reconciliations on a period basis To provide ad-hoc reports and management information on supplier activity. To complete any adhoc tasks or projects requested by the Accounting Services Manager
Experience Required: Extensive experience in a financial accounting role in a large and highly computerised, multi site organisation. Purchase ledger experience, particularly of the payment and statement reconciliation procedures and controls. Staff management including recruitment, experience of disciplinary procedures, training and performance appraisal Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint Excellent Communication, People and Influencing skills.
