RESUSCITATION OFFICER (RO)
Band 6 or Band 5 in development
22.5 hours per week
MUST be able to work all day Wednesday and have flexibility for the remaining days
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join the Resuscitation Service as either a Band 6 Resuscitation Officer or a Band 5 Resuscitation Officer in development subject to meeting person specifications. Previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer would be desirable.
Primarily this is a teaching role and you will deliver adult & paediatric resuscitation training at a variety of levels to all Trust clinical staff and external clients. The post also involves undertaking defined projects related to the service (i.e. quality improvement projects) and attending Medical Emergency Team calls. This is a vital role for patient safety and for developing the knowledge and skills of all clinical staff.
You will be a UK registered qualified nurse with recent experience in an acute setting e.g. Intensive care, Coronary Care, Emergency Department or be working as a Resuscitation Officer.
For a Band 6 RO post you must have a recognised teaching qualification and a current Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor certificate for Advanced Life Support (ALS) (or be on the Instructor pathway).
For a Band 5 RO in development you would need a willingness to work towards achieving a recognised teaching qualification and a Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor certificate for ALS within an agreed timescale and we would help you to achieve this essential criteria.
European Paediatric Life Support or Advanced Paediatric Life Support provider or Instructor certificate is desirable.
This post requires excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organisational skills, together with an ability to be very self-motivated and also work as part of a team.
