This is a new post for an Activity Coordinator, working closely with both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues. As the Activity coordinator, you will play an important role in a patient’s recovery by providing meaningful activities to promote appropriate levels of stimulation, promote well- being and encourage, improve and/or maintain a patient’s current level of function and avoid de-conditioning whist in hospital. We are looking for an individual with experience within a care setting, who has the ability to work closely with colleagues and patients, to progress rehabilitation goals, and identify activities to increase motivation and maintain wellbeing. You will work between 2 sites, Spinnaker Ward and Jubilee House in Portsmouth. You will work with clinicians and service leaders in order to develop therapeutic ward programmes, which will include group and individual sessions. You will have the opportunity to work as a member of the multi disciplinary team which includes nursing, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, doctors and support staff. The service offers professional development, personal development reviews and supervision, both clinical and managerial. The successful candidates will need to be passionate about patient care and demonstrate their enthusiasm and motivation to make a real difference working within our trust values. They must be able to work as part of a team but also under their own initiative to provide and co-ordinate such activities. This post is part time, working 22.5 hours over 3 days.
