QA Inspector (Afternoons)

Job description          

To ensure the quality and safety products manufactured by Health Innovations and packed by Principle Healthcare are maintained, and to support the QA team in the maintenance of quality standards in line with BRC and customer requirements. To support the operations team in meeting the requirements of implemented quality standards and product specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Efficient sampling, testing and release of raw materials, semi-processed and finished goods as required in a timely manner.
To conduct testing of equipment in line with procedure.
To conduct blade inspections in line with procedure.
Identification, control and efficient handling of non conforming raw materials, blend, WIP and finished/packed products
To conduct in process control inspections for each process step ensuring products manufactured and packed meet with the authorised product specification
To assist the quality team in the maintenance of standard operation procedures and policies, in line with customer, legislative and BRC requirements
To conduct quality and hygiene inspections in the manufacturing and packing areas working with the operations team to maintain good standards of hygiene in line with BRC and customer standards.
Inspection of finished product and release against set criteria and release of manufactured goods against AQL sample plan.
To identify areas of in process improvement that results in reduced waste.
Raising of NCFs against the Non Conformance Procedure – reporting and investigating each incident of non conformance for both product and process.

Skills, knowledge, experience, attitude

Previous experience within a quality assurance role
Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is an advantage
Must be able to demonstrate experience of being part of a team with the ability to work in a team as well as own initiative
Good attention to detail is required
Open to working shifts
Inquisitive with a desire to learn and develop knowledge of the manufacturing process and its associated risks
Decisive – ability to assess situation and make timely decisions
Clear communicator – ability to communicate key information to various business areas
Team player – ability to support colleagues from different teams
Enthusiastic and determined to succeed, ability to over come obstacles
Process driven with the ability to efficiently follow processes and procedure

This is a full time position, 36 hours a week over 4 days. Monday-Thursday 14:00 - 23:30
