An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic dietitian interested in working within the adult mental health setting. This is a great chance to further your skills and experience in an inpatient mental health setting, whilst having a responsibility for certain leadership roles within the Trust. We are looking for a forward thinking HCPC Registered Dietitian with good communication and team working skills.
The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in mental health settings but it is not necessary. They will be responsible for providing dietetics assessments to people admitted to the working age adult (under 65 years) mental health wards within Kirklees (Dewsbury and District Hospital) and Calderdale (Calderdale Royal Hospital).There is a strong multidisciplinary approach on the wards involving medics, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy and physiotherapy colleagues.You will be fully involved in the MDT attending professionals’ meetings/ward rounds when appropriate.
In addition the successful candidate will link in with catering to provide optimal nutrition for inpatients, and take the lead for Nutrition meetings involving ward staff, catering and colleagues. They will take a lead for student training for the Kirklees/Calderdale area and lead on audit activity in relation to inpatient nutrition.The Service offers student training for A and C placements, which receive excellent feedback.
The post is fully “agile” so a laptop and mobile phone will be provided for work use.You will receive professional development reviews, management supervision, and clinical supervision from the Dietitians already working within the inpatient working age adults within the Trust. You will also link in with the Dietetic Network across the Trust from which strong professional leadership is provided, with an emphasis on evidence based and innovative practice.
