The Purpose of the role is to deliver Community Safety initiatives to residential properties in Cheshire, Halton or Warrington. To occasionally work in partnership with outside agencies and fire station personnel to support and promote a safer community. The role will involve community engagement amongst the most vulnerable, minority groups, young people, the general population and the elderly.

Working towards allocated targets, deliver Home Safety advice to Cheshire, Halton and Warrington residents, including ‘at risk’ and minority groups, the elderly, and people with a disability, through the provision of Home Safety Assessments and Safe & Well Visits. Respond to the generation of referrals from external agencies to minimise the risk of fire.
Accurately record relevant information and documents on the CFRMIS database.
Support Community Safety delivery through engaging within any programmed initiatives as directed by the Lead Advocate.
Practice and promote the Health and Safety policies of Cheshire Fire Service to ensure the development and progression of health and safety within the sphere of responsibility of this job description and the health and safety of all employees and customers.
Promote equality and diversity in the Service and the Community in accordance with the Authority’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
As an important member of the team, your work will focus on delivering safe and well initiatives to identified at risk groups. From fitting smoke alarms to offering practical advice to local residents across Cheshire East, you’ll be a vital part of the community.
Engaging with the region’s most vulnerable people, including minority groups, the young and the elderly, you’ll promote health and safety within the home.
Educated to at least GCSE level, including in Maths and English, you’ll also have a full driving licence.
In addition you will need:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
To be self motivated with the ability to work to targets
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
Good organisational and time management skills.
