Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction services and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in Liverpool, Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with at least two years post qualification experience to work into our new non CPA Step 4 service . The new service will have close links with our Secondary care Psychological CMHT service so that a clear step up step down service can develop . The stepped model of Psychological care will be central to the delivery of care in the new service.
Over the last three years the Psychology staffing in Mersey Care has increased by a third largely a result of new recurrent money from bids for new staff . The service you are applying for is the result of our success in winning substantial recurrent national funding for this innovative Psychosocial service .
CPD is central to the post. Dependent on your skill set we will provide a wide range of training to meet your individual and service needs .
Over the last three years examples of funded training courses available for our staff have been:- full CFT (individual and group), EMDR, ACT, DBT , and MBT and full CAT training . You will receive additional specialist supervision should this be required.
We are keen on career progression and developing our staff into leadership roles 8b ,8c. There will be a number of opportunities for you to develop the skills needed to apply for new 8b posts we are developing in the next two years.
We will also support your training in leadership and management should you wish to pursue this. Should you wish to develop skills in Bid /Tender writing and developing new services from scratch we would be delighted to support you with our leads developing these skills .

We would expect the applicant to be a team player as they will be part of a supportive MDT delivering a multi tiered Psychosocial interventions .
