Part-Time IAPT Counsellor (Fixed term for one year, with possible extension)

The position requires travel to outreach locations in Mansfield, Newark and Nottingham, with a base in Nottingham City Centre, NG1

Hours of Work

23 hours per week (worked over 3 days), worked as follows:
Monday - 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Tuesday - 11.00 am to 7.30 pm
Wednesday - 9.00 am to 5.00 pm

Introduction

Employed by Notts SVS Services, this is an exciting opportunity to provide short term, focussed counselling therapy interventions to survivors of sexual violence, aged 18+, as referred by Insight Healthcare

Job Purpose

To provide face to face counselling and participate in the provision of the counselling service

Responsibilities

Provide short term focused counselling therapy interventions (6-8 sessions) to survivors of sexual violence aged 18+ as referred by Insight Healthcare;
Ensure timely processing of all incoming referrals from Insight Healthcare in order to meet key performance indicators with regard to waiting times for 1st counselling appointment
To be responsible for the day to day running of the IAPT counselling service and to liaise with Insight Healthcare and Notts SVSS management in this regard
To be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the IAPT counselling service, including accurate data entry onto database systems
Conduct risk and needs assessments and formulate risk management plans using Notts SVSS’s Risk Management Policies & Procedures

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Degree in counselling (Humanistic/Integrative), with extensive post-qualification experience
BACP or UKCP Accreditation
Experience of working for IAPT
An awareness and understanding of sexual violence and its impact
Experience of working with trauma and PTSD, depression and anxiety
Experience of dealing with difficult situations and working autonomously and using own initiative
Able to produce statistical, monitoring and evaluation information and accurately input into a database system
