Adult Tutor: ICT

Job description          

Your role:
Leicester Adult Skills and Learning Service (LASALS) offer a large and diverse programme of further education qualification courses as well as extensive community based provision. We have a diverse, enthusiastic student community, taught and supported by well qualified, dedicated staff.

ICT skills underpin the requirements for teaching, employment and social living today. Demand for our provision is constantly increasing and we need tutors with the passion and motivation to help us move forward and provide the best learning experience possible for our Adult Learners across the city.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills in relevant Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and will be qualified to a minimum ECDL Extra level with, ideally, experience of teaching to this level and knowledge and understanding of the BCS qualification. Knowledge and experience of OCR Entry 3 and Level 1 qualifications will also be an advantage, as will teaching basic skills to absolute beginners.

You will ensure that teaching reflects current good practice and that assessment procedures are accessible to the learner and sufficient to meet the demands of quality assurance and learning outcomes. Whilst ensuring that learners receive a positive experience and achieve their full potential in their learning journey.
What you will need:
In addition to excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, you will have the appropriate qualifications, which include: an adult teaching qualification at level 4 with experience of teaching adults aged 16 years and above, subject specific and qualifications at an appropriate level, English at level 2, Maths and IT qualifications at level 2 or a commitment to work towards within 12 months.

You will have commitment and enthusiasm for delivering quality learning experiences to people living and working in Leicester City, as well as the ability to identify individual learning needs, design and plan lessons accordingly.

An enhanced DBS check will be carried out if successful.
Additional Information:
You must be prepared to work in a variety of settings across the city.

The hourly rate is £23.78 - £26.76 per hour, depending on experience. You will be required all year round – 52 weeks per year.

The hours of work are 2-10 per week.
