The position of Graduate Planner has a demanding and wide-ranging workload and will be working alongside a professional planning team on a range of planning projects, including residential, mixed‐use, major commercial and retail developments, and renewable energy projects.
The successful individual should be undertaking experience leading towards full RTPI membership. You must be a strong communicator both orally and written and be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the planning process and current legislation.

Typical duties will include:
Assisting senior members of the team with the completion of planning applications and supporting documents, planning appeals and the delivery of planning adviceAssisting with the production of draft documents such as Environmental Statements, Planning Statements, Design and Access StatementsLiaising with clients, local authorities and stakeholders throughout the planning processUndertaking site visits and site appraisalsUsing ProMap, In-design and Photoshop to produce maps, mapping layers and plans as requiredDrafting and delivering reports to Clients and other team membersAssisting senior members of staff in the preparation of Public ExhibitionsAttendance at Public ExhibitionsSummarising comments received from Exhibitions, producing documentation as requiredAssist with the submission and management of Discharge of Conditions, and monitoring thereofLeading small‐scale projects, when appropriateMaintaining strong business relationships with ClientsResearching and locating documents via the internet using search engines, Government websites and Local Authority websitesAssisting in the production of exhibition material, to include display boards, leaflets, letters and mailingsTyping / administration of work outputsMaintaining project files (manual & electronic)Maintaining detailed projects lists efficientlyUndertaking administration work as necessary

08:30 – 17:30, Monday – Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break
