Children's Residential Home Worker Location: Aylesbury Vale Ref: FS10806 Closing date: 9th October 2019 Contract type: Permanent Working hours: Full Time Salary: £20,664 - £26,148 Overview Do you have a qualification in Care? Do you enjoy working with children? If so, then we have a great opportunity within our Elms Home for a daytime Residential Worker. About Us Significant progress has been made to improve our Children’s Services in Buckinghamshire. A new, permanent Senior Management Team arrived in April 2018 and is making the right changes to ensure we improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people across the County. OFSTED said during their last monitoring visit that ‘The senior leadership team has a sound understanding of the improvements that are needed in children’s services and is steadfastly determined to improve the quality of services for children’ Read the Ofsted Monitoring Visit feedback letter https://files.api.ofsted.gov.uk/v1/file/50085255 About the role This is a full time role working 37 hours per week across 4 shifts. Your shifts will include daytime and evening shifts, and some weekend work will be required. The Elms has a strong, well established team and is currently providing good outcomes for children in care. You will assist in providing a positive living experience for the resident young people by caring for their physical, emotional and social needs. This includes devising out-of-school activities, working in partnership with Social Workers and helping the children to develop essential life skills and independence. About you You will have: A Relevant social work qualification (e.g. NVQ 3 in Care) Excellent communication and problem solving skills Practical life skills Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation.
