Accredited Financial Investigator – Asset Recovery Team

Job description          

One vacancy - located at either Loddon Valley or Kidlington Applications are invited from accredited (currently with the NCA) Financial Investigators to work on Economic Crime Unit (ECU) Asset Recovery Team. The post holder will be primarily responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating often complex and protracted financial investigations in relation to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) or other legislation, in respect of preparation of confiscation, restraint and Civil Recovery in Summary Proceedings (CRiSP). This challenging post involves contributing towards disrupting, dismantling OCGs and depriving criminals / respondents of the proceeds of crime and exercising full AFI powers including restraint and confiscation. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic investigator who is seeking, varied and challenging work in a team where integrity, attention to detail, self-motivation and personal drive are of the utmost importance. Specialist knowledge or qualifications in such fields are not an absolute requirement of the post, however, knowledge and awareness of financial environments is desirable as is experience of managing complex investigations. A sizeable part of the role is drawing on the specialist skills of experts and therefore effective liaison, presentation and ambassadorial skills are required. You should also have a good working knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act and other legislation pertaining to economic crime issues. The ability to demonstrate flexibility in the role and a willingness to work anywhere in Thames Valley when the need arises, is essential.
